Sustainable business, sustainable organization, and sustainable supply chains
Aiming for a more sustainable society
Sustainable development in Kaptas’ operations
Sustainable development is a core part of Kaptas’ operations. The company’s sustainable development goals are based on the long-term vision of the Addtech Group, which is to provide leading technological solutions for a sustainable tomorrow.
Three concrete goals for 2030 and three key focus areas
Kaptas is pursuing three concrete sustainability goals by 2030, which are shared by all companies within the Addtech Group. These goals relate to sustainable business practices, sustainable organizations, and sustainable supply chains.
Additionally, Kaptas focuses on three key sustainability areas defined by the Addtech Group: environmental responsibility, social responsibility, and financial responsibility.
Addtech Group’s three sustainability goals for 2030
The Addtech Group has set three concrete sustainability goals for all its companies, which aim to be achieved by 2030.
These goals are part of the group’s broader effort toward a more sustainable society.
Goal 1
Sustainable business: 100% of business promotes sustainable development
The companies within the Addtech Group offer technological solutions that help customers transition to more sustainable business practices.
The goal is for all the group’s business operations to fully align with the UN’s sustainable development goals by 2030.
Goal 2
Sustainable organization: 40% women in leadership roles and 50% reduction in CO2 emissions
Addtech aims for gender equality and to provide career development opportunities for all genders. The goal is to have at least 40% of leadership roles filled by women.
Part of this sustainable organizational focus is reducing the carbon footprint. The group aims to halve CO2 emissions by 2030 compared to 2020 levels.
Goal 3
Sustainable supply chain: 80% of procurement follows Code of Conduct standards
The Addtech Group has its own Code of Conduct for suppliers, ensuring that the entire supply chain adheres to sustainability principles.
The standards guarantee that subcontractors respect human rights, labour conditions, equality, anti-corruption efforts, and environmental protection based on international principles.
Kaptas is already implementing sustainable business practices
100% of our business promotes sustainable development
Currently, 100% of Kaptas’ business operations focus on areas that impact the UN’s sustainable development goals.
For example, we manufacture machines and production lines for the pharmaceutical industry, specifically advancing the UN’s “Health and Well-being” goal.
The machines we build are used for producing medicines for developing countries and conducting diagnostics related to neonatal diseases.
Sustainable supply chain
Kaptas promotes sustainable supply chains by selecting subcontractors that are reliable and adhere to comprehensive Code of Conduct standards.
Furthermore, Kaptas requires its subcontractors to follow the Addtech Group’s Code of Conduct.
Our goal is to include our entire subcontractor network under the Code of Conduct rules in the next couple of years.
Women in leadership roles
Kaptas currently employs over 40 automation professionals.
Attracting women to technology jobs has been a challenge, so there are only a few women working at Kaptas.
However, we currently have women both in our leadership team and in supervisory roles.
Less CO2 emissions
Kaptas considers Addtech Group’s goal of halving CO2 emissions, both in strategic planning and daily operations.
Our most significant emissions source is our heating systems, but we aim to achieve a carbon-neutral solution for them soon.

Kaptas follows Addtech’s long-term environmental goals, including halving CO2 emissions by 2030.
We monitor our environmental impacts annually using a carbon footprint calculator.
The most significant emission impact within the Addtech Group comes from goods transportation. To reduce our share of the Group’s emissions, we are optimizing our transportation and have switched to lower-emission transportation methods, such as larger bulk orders.
We are also reducing emissions from mobility by cutting back on air travel, promoting electric cars, and encouraging remote meetings.
Our facilities, particularly their heating systems, are the largest source of our emissions, but we are actively working to minimize their energy consumption and emissions impacts.
We also help our customers towards lower environmental impacts in their production processes. More flexible and higher-quality production, enabled by automation, reduces waste and unnecessary production.
We are also reducing the environmental impact of our machines by using 3D printing, which conserves resources in part production, and selecting environmentally friendly, recyclable materials.
Kaptas’ machines are almost entirely recyclable, which also reduces our customers’ own carbon footprints.
Kaptas is committed to ethical business practices and follows the Addtech Group’s Code of Conduct guidelines that govern our daily operations.
The well-being of our employees is important to us, and we strive to be an equal opportunity employer. We offer all employees the chance to influence their work environment and advance in their careers, regardless of gender or background.
We aim to provide interesting roles and career advancement opportunities to women and employees from international backgrounds, while also offering flexible working arrangements to help balance work and family life.
We evaluate employee experiences and job satisfaction annually through the Addtech Group’s joint employee survey, where they can provide feedback on our workplace culture.
We also assist our customers in achieving more socially responsible production. By automating heavy manual or hazardous tasks, we improve the well-being and safety of workers in our customer companies and free up time for more creative work.
Kaptas operates financially transparently and sustainably. Our activities are regularly evaluated through both external and internal audits.
We aim to minimize the resources required for our operations. Resource-efficient operations are also more environmentally sustainable.
We support our customers in transitioning to more sustainable production by offering financially viable, long-lasting, and environmentally low-impact solutions.
We help our customers modernize their production processes, which reduces their resource consumption, environmental impacts, and financial costs.
